Video Storyboard:
Student Testimonials
Why use a Storyboard?
-
For Video or Media Development
-
Microlearning or Custom Interactives
-
Education/ Marketing Hybrid Content
-
Training or Corporate
Purpose: Videos will showcase authentic student experiences and program highlights, to be used in student orientation materials and featured in recruitment and information sessions to support enrollment and engagement.

Script Questions: Develop question guides or scripts for each student interview, converting story outlines into concrete dialogue and narrative beats.
Scene-by-scene storyboard: Create a visual plan of the video by drawing or using software to map out each scene (shot, setting, action) chronologically.
Define visuals: List and plan key visuals (campus buildings, graduation scenes, workplace environments) that illustrate each success metric. Decide on camera angles and graphics to highlight major achievements.

-
Pre-interview coordination: Meet with the three students in advance to refine their stories, gather anecdotes, and adjust the script and storyboard as needed.

Pre-production Creative Planning
As the media manager, I work with the student to develop the narrative, point of view, themes, inspired outcomes, and visual plan.
1) Outline each student’s success story and draft interview scripts: turn core messages into questions and dialogue prompts that highlight career outcomes.
2) Storyboard the scenes: sketch a sequence of frames breaking down the video shot by shot (noting character, location, and scene length). Each storyboard frame illustrates the action, camera angle, or setting and includes annotations for dialogue and key graphics.
3) Define the visual storytelling style – for example, choosing shots of campus life, classrooms, and workplace settings as B-roll to reinforce each student’s journey.
Finally, plan the tone and branding (e.g. inspirational, professional) so all three stories share a cohesive style.
Production Schedule | Coordination

-
Create a filming schedule: Develop an itinerary that details when and where each interview and scene will be shot, including setup time, breaks, and schedule.
-
Location & equipment prep: I reserve campus locations or schedule virtual interviews, and gather any background shots; arrange all necessary cameras, lighting rigs, and audio gear before shooting.
-
Manage the shoot: I also serve as videographer to capture each planned shot and adapt to any real-time changes, ensuring the video follows the storyboard.

-
Capture supporting footage: Film additional B-roll and cutaway shots (classroom activities, campus scenes, etc.) to visually support the students’ stories and create a polished final video.
